Accounting Department Manager

What does success look like?

• Accounting manager will create raving fans by leading the accounting department to maximum profitability in accordance with Datamate’s core values. The accounting department manager will do this by:
• Developing the accounting team members by leading weekly team meetings to build relationships, develop skills and celebrate team successes
• Growing revenue by increasing the perceived value that our clients experience by teaching the team to cross sell appropriate Datamate solutions (payroll, bookkeeping, tax planning, etc) for problems uncovered during client conversations
• Create and update weekly scorecard for the accounting department on KPIs (key performance indicators) that drive success - calculate and add GP%, after adding in salary and incentive
• Completing a review of each client's books and monthly financial statements by the 30th of each month or their specific due date, if it varies
• Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards

What skills are needed to be successful?

• Heart of leader
• Cares deeply about the results of the team more than about their individual goals
• Detailed grasp of bookkeeper’s responsibilities and best practices
• Mastery of QuickBooks online
• Good communicator
